WELSH SLATE SCORES TWICE FOR LOCAL PRIMARY SCHOOLS

Two primary schools local to Welsh Slate’s main Penrhyn quarry now have stunning new football kit, thanks to the Breedon Group company.
Welsh Slate’s assistant operations manager at Penrhyn, Robbie Creek, was approached by Gethin Thomas, headteacher of the two schools in Bethesda - Ysgol Abercaseg and Ysgol Pen-Y-Bryn - who enquired about the possibility of sponsoring their school football kit.
They had recently played in a local school tournament where they did very well, winning a number of matches, but Gethin felt the kit they were wearing was outdated and did not reflect well on the efforts of the children.
Welsh Slate was proud to support the local community and donated 12 full kits to the schools.
Gethin Thomas said: “Thanks to Welsh Slate for sponsoring a brand new sports kit for Ysgol Pen-y-bryn! It’s fantastic.”
Ysgol Pen-y-bryn are pictured the first time they wore the kit before their trip to Deiniolen to play a friendly match against Ysgol Gwaun Gynfi.
