Welsh Slate proves to be a top Valued Partner
Welsh Slate has scored a 10 out of 10 for the latest event in its School Valued Partner programme with Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen, its local secondary school in Bethesda where its main Penrhyn quarry is located.
The manufacturer was one of five local employers to take part in a work sectors afternoon for the whole of Year 10 pupils, some 85 students in total.
The main aim of the event was to try to motivate and inspire the students to think about their career paths by giving them access to employers such as Welsh Slate who are able to talk about real jobs and careers that may be available to them in the local area.
This latest event was attended by Welsh Slate’s works manager for Penrhyn, Rob Maurice-Jones, as well as the manufacturer’s HSEQ manager Sean Edwards.
The School Valued Partner programme by Careers Wales replaces the previous Business Class scheme which Welsh Slate had supported for many years.
