WELSH SLATE HELPS REWARD LOCAL STUDENTS
12 September 2020
Students at Welsh Slate’s local secondary school have had their achievements recognised in an awards ceremony supported by the company.
Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen’s annual award ceremony is an opportunity for the school in Bethesda, where Welsh Slate’s main Penrhyn Quarry is located, to celebrate the efforts made by all pupils.
This includes pupils past and present for their A levels or GCSEs as well as talented students in sport or arts and music, not to mention Year 7 and 8 students for their classwork and homework.
Some students are given financial rewards while younger pupils are presented with gift tokens. Welsh Slate contributed £100 towards this.
Headteacher Dylan Davies said:
“The school prides itself on ensuring that pupils are given every opportunity to succeed, and feels their success deserves formal recognition.”
