WELSH SLATE HELPS PROTECT FOOTBALL-MAD YOUNGSTERS AGAINST THE ELEMENTS

4 May 2022

Some 70 football-mad young children are keeping dry in the variable Welsh climate, thanks to Welsh Slate.

The leading UK manufacturer donated £500 towards new rain jackets for the junior section of its local football team, Bethesda Athletic FC, which is based in the same village as its main Penrhyn quarry. The section caters for children aged five to 18, with the new rain jackets being worn by the Under 7, Under 8, Under 9 and Under 10 teams.

Club secretary Natalie Rosser said: “Our committee works very hard to ensure football is affordable and accessible to all children and young people in the community and Welsh Slate’s kind donation is really appreciated. The new rain jackets will keep the children dry through the winter months at training and games. The kids absolutely love them.”
