THREE IMPRESSIVE PROJECTS UTILISING WELSH SLATE HAVE BEEN SELECTED AS FINALISTS IN THE PITCHED ROOFING AWARDS

A total of three projects featuring Welsh Slate have been shortlisted in this year’s Pitched Roofing Awards.

They are battling it out in the “Best use of slate for a commercial project” category - Landsec’s redevelopment of 13 buildings at Piccadilly Circus, “Lucent”, with the new Cwt y Bugail roof installed by EJ Roberts Roofing Contractors, the reroof of St Andrew’s Church on Ham Common by Maguire Brothers, and reroof of the Grade II listed former railway engine shed, The Roundhouse In Leeds, by Martin-Brooks Roofing Specialists, both with Penrhyn Heather Blue.

“Lucent” is also battling it out in the “Best use of a heritage roof” category, alongside two projects that used reclaimed Welsh Slate – the Grade II listed private house Shire End West in Lyme Regis and medieval Belsay Hall in Northumberland.

We wish all of the projects the best of luck for the awards final on November 22nd!
