Aggregates

Operating from four quarries in North Wales, Welsh//Slate aggregates sell one million tonnes of aggregates per annum for a wide range of uses. All products are from secondary aggregates, produced as a by-product of roofing slate production over the centuries.

Construction Aggregates - A wide range of products are produced for precast concrete, ready mixed concrete, road construction, civil engineering and house building etc.

Industrial Minerals - Slate granules, for example, are used in the production of bituminous roofing felts and artificial slate roofing tiles.  Ground slate has many outstanding technical properties and slate powders find their way into a wide variety of products. These include bitumen, insecticides, paint, resins, pipeline coatings, roofing and damp-course felts, motor car under seal, terrazzo tiles and plastics to name but a few.

Decorative Aggregates - Welsh//Slate produces three colours of decorative aggregates, red, green and blue. The products are used as mulches, for footpaths, patios etc.  Slate feature stones and monoliths are also available.
