Welsh Slate Roofing - Pierhead Building, Cardiff

The recently restored Pierhead Building in Cardiff Bay is a beautiful reminder of the history of Cardiff's dock area that has been transformed from one of the world's most important ports, Tiger Bay, into a modern waterside development that cleverly juxtaposes new and old architecture.

The red brick building, which is Grade 1 listed, was designed by William Frame and was built in 1897.

This heritage building has been re-slated with 20,000 Ffestiniog 500x250 Blue Grey Capital grade roofing slates.  The slating work was carried out by M Camelleri & Sons.
