Lloyd George Statue, Parliament Square, London

Welsh//Slate supplied a six tonne slate block as the plinth for the new David Lloyd George statue in Parliament Square, London.

David Lloyd George was MP for Caernarfon, North Wales and Prime Minister from 1916 to 1922.

Sculptor, Professor Glyn Williams was commissioned by the David Lloyd George Statue Appeal Trust.  The design is cast in bronze and the plinth is a solid block of Penrhyn Heather Blue Grey slate. 

The memorial was unveiled in October 2007 by HRH The Prince of Wales.
