Colours

Roofing slate is produced in the following colours:-

• Penrhyn Heather Blue
• Penrhyn Heather Red
• Ffestiniog Blue Grey
• Cwt-y-Bugail Dark Blue Grey

All products are available in natural riven.

Penrhyn Heather Red is also available in a calibrated/textured finish.  This product having the benefit of a very uniform 8mm thickness (no sorting required) and comes pre-holed.

Finishes/Textures

Riven/Cleaved

The natural texture of slate when split along the cleavage plane. Typically used for tiles or paving.

Honed/Polished

The slate is mechanically polished to produce a smooth finish. Typically used for worktops or fire hearths.

Flamed

A sawn slate surface is subject to rapid heating (by flame) and cooling by water to give a uniform textured appearance suitable for paving, fire hearths and cladding.

Stippled

The sawn slate surface is distressed mechanically to give a uniformed stippled surface suitable for paving.
